Work/Research Focus

In the Boron Lab, I contribute to a wide variety of ongoing projects investigating a) the role of gas channels in pH regulation and b) CO2/HCO3- sensing in the kidney proximal tubule. My primary responsibilities include the generation and maintenance of mammalian cell lines (HEK293 and Immortomouse Proximal Tubule Kidney Cells), conducting co-IP experiments, and the preparation of samples for proteomic and lipidomic analysis from both erythrocytes and our mammalian cell lines.

About Me

I have been at Case Western since December 2010. After completing my graduate degree, I moved to Chicago IL, where I volunteered at The Field Museum, and worked in melanoma research (specifically, diagnostics and prognostics) at Northwestern University, before returning to my home state of Ohio, where I enjoy suffering thanks to my beloved sports teams on a regular basis (with recent, notable, exceptions).
