Dr. Leslie Leinwand of the University of Colorado gives the 5th Annual Matthew N. Levy Lecture

Leslie Leinwand, Ph.D., F.A.H.A., Distinguished Professor in the Department of Molecular, Cellular & Developmental Biology (MCDB) and the Chief Scientific Officer of the BioFrontiers Institute at the University of Colorado, gave the 5th Annual Department of Physiology and Biophysics Matthew N. Levy Lecture on Thursday, October 31, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. in SOM E-501.

The title of Dr. Leinwand's lecture was “Myosin myopathies: mechanisms of pathogenesis and paths to therapeutics.”

A reception in Dr. Leinwand's honor followed the lecture.

The late Dr. Matthew Levy was a gifted, dedicated teacher and scientist who influenced countless students, conducted groundbreaking research on heart function and its relationship to the autonomic nervous system, and who co-authored one of the most influential texts on physiology. Each autumn, beginning with a daylong symposium in 2014, the Department honors the memory of Dr. Levy and his accomplishments.
