Jie Yang, mentored by and in the lab of Dr. Sam Xiao, publicly defended his doctoral dissertation on Tuesday, May 2, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. in SOM E-501.
The title of Jie's dissertation is “Structure, function, and regulation of inflammatory caspases in inflammation and pyroptosis.”
A festive brunch reception for the newly minted Ph.D. was held in the department's 5th floor bridge area following the defense.
