This 2013 Recknagel Symposium was held during the Department's annual retreat on Friday, October 4 at the Sawmill Creek Resort in Huron, OH.

Four of our second year doctoral students presented on a project from their first year laboratory rotations. Pamela Marcott received the first place award for academic record and Pam (l) and Amrita Samanta (r) shared the first place award for research presentation.

Professor Richard Recknagel was Chairman of Physiology from 1976 to 1986. He was an admired thinker and investigator who took a keen interest in mentoring young students and faculty. In his memory, the Department established this Symposium.
