Research Interests

The role of the ubiquitin–proteasome system in regulating molecular mechanisms of cardiac disease

The Willis laboratory uses physiologic, molecular, and genetic approaches to study the role of the ubiquitin proteasome system in heart failure and metabolism.  The laboratory employs standard molecular techniques, genetically modified animals, and gene discovery tools to expand our understanding of critical quality control mechanisms in heart disease to discover therapeutic targets to exploit.
