Raisa obtained her B.S. in Neuroscience and Biology from Baldwin Wallace University, before continuing on to obtain a M.S. in Medical Physiology from Case Western Reserve University. During her studies, Raisa became increasingly interested in systems physiology and how the whole body works to adapt, or maladapt, to extreme environments. Her interests lead her to pursue formal research training as a PhD student in the Department of Physiology and Biophysics at Case Western, and as a member of the Decker Lab. Raisa enjoys healthy doses of sarcasm, science fiction, travel, and creating memories with friends and family.
